After several other quality mobile chat apps such as Fring, Nimbuzz & friends designed for the iPhone.
Meebo, the heavywheight in Web chatting finally landed in Apple’s App store. The advantages compared to other apps ? Aside from allowing users to chat via AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google Talk, MySpace IM, ICQ, Jabber, Facebook and other more obscure chat services, the app naturally includes push notifications. The real strength is the speed and simplicity of the app. And if like millions of people already on Meebo, you have a Meebo ID, it will seamlessly log you back into all the previously configured services. The only downside is the lack of support for Skype’s network. Maybe coming in a future update ?
In any case, you should give it a try if you’re used to chatting on-the-go!

Meebo is ok but not really overwhelming…
Try Nimbuzz! It’s out since long time, free and it also supports skype and push notifications.
Nimbuzz does not work so well for me.
Its very slow
Thanks for writing about this. There’s a mass of solid tech info on the internet. You’ve got a lot of that info here on your site. I’m impressed – I try to keep a couple blogs pretty live, but it’s a struggle sometimes. You’ve done a big job with this one. How do you do it?
